Okay, let’s be real--Season 2 was pretty choppy. 😂 It had its moments, but I wasn’t fully locked in the way I wanted to be. So, we’re running it back and doing it right in Season 3! Of course, I had to start by reviewing my own music—because if I’m gonna critique others, I need to be fair and put myself under the same microscope. I’ve made some dope tracks, but I’ve also made some questionable ones (we don’t have to talk about those… or do we? 👀). Either way, it’s all part of the journey, and I respect every version of myself that’s come before this one. This season, I’m more focused, more intentional, and more ready than ever to bring you the raw, unfiltered content that The Real Life of Jo is all about. Expect better interviews, deeper conversations, and a whole new energy. So, if you’re rocking with me--let’s get into it. 🚀

There are moments in life that feel like turning points—where everything you’ve worked for starts coming together, even if you don’t realize it in the moment. Episodes 3-5 of The Real Life of Jo capture exactly that. These three videos hold some of the most defining moments in my journey, and they all happened so close together that I had to put them in one blog post.
🎤 Episode 3: My Work in the Industry. This episode was a reflection of everything I had done up to that point--interviews, poetry slams, open mics, and the work I had put in behind the scenes in the industry. It was a reminder of how far I had come, from being the one on stage to being the one behind the mic, amplifying the voices of others. The Real Life of Jo was still growing, but this episode was a moment of recognition for the grind that got me here. 📺 Episode 4: My Appearance on The Steve Harvey Show Yeah… that happened! I was on The Steve Harvey Show, and this clip is a piece of that experience. Looking back, it was surreal to be on a platform that big, but it was also confirmation that my voice, my work, and my story mattered. It wasn’t just about the moment—it was about realizing I belonged in these spaces, and I had something valuable to share. 📖 Episode 5: A Snippet from My Poetry Book. Along with everything else going on, I had published my poetry book, and this episode includes an audio snippet from it. Poetry has always been a part of my journey, a way I express my thoughts, emotions, and the world around me. To have my words in book form and be able to share them was another major milestone. Looking back at these three episodes, I realize they weren’t just random moments—they were proof that all the work, passion, and risks were leading me somewhere. These episodes capture my evolution, from performing at open mics to being on national TV, to publishing my poetry and putting it into the world. This was a defining era in my journey, and I’m grateful for every moment. Let’s be real—I’ve made some trash music before too. 😂 Not every song was a hit, and I’ve had my share of off-beat flows, questionable lyrics, and moments where I thought, Yeah… this ain't it. But that’s part of the process. Creating music taught me so much about artistry, production, and the effort that goes into every track, and that’s exactly why I wanted to respect the craft before critiquing it. This shift was the beginning of something bigger. My love for music never faded, but instead of making it, I found a new passion in breaking it down, analyzing it, and showcasing artists who deserved recognition. It wasn’t just about opinions—it was about giving artists a platform and helping people discover something new. So, if you’ve ever made something and looked back like, What was I thinking?—trust me, I get it. But those moments shape growth, and I wouldn’t trade them for anything. Watch the video and take this trip with me. This is where the transition started, and it only got better from here. 🚀🎶 |
